Cooperation among distributed nodes generates many radio transmissions. Radio broadcasting is often seen as a drawback in WSN because of overhearing. Here, we turn this drawback into a key feature to improve energy consumption during localization. We analyze our protocols' convergence condition, propagation, speed and communication cost with a simulation tool. We show that one of our approach which takes the most benefit from overhearing, outperforms the other two both in terms of convergence speed and communication cost&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/div&gt;

&lt;p&gt;The &lt;a href=&#034;https://pepr-futurenetworks.fr/projet/donuts/&#034; class='spip_out' rel='external'&gt;DONUTS&lt;/a&gt; project introduces several breakthrough approaches to the design, management, and optimization of Space-Air-Ground integrated networks. Its focus on seamless integration, resource management across heterogeneous technologies and scales, dynamic and adaptive control in the face of changing network conditions, and the innovative design and use of a Digital Twin for network infrastructure modeling and forecasting, represents significant contributions to the field of network research and engineering and has the potential to significantly impact the way future integrated network systems are conceived and operated.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;In this PhD, the objective is to explore the potential of direct data transmission in cellular networks, instead of following the standard multi-step procedure.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Inspired by recent breakthroughs in LPWAN networks, the challenge is to evaluate the possibility of transmitting data directly in the slotted Aloha channel, by alleviating quasi-orthogonal codes and adjusting the transmission robustness to the channel conditions.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Your profile&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;ul class=&#034;spip&#034;&gt;&lt;li&gt; Master's degree or equivalent in IT/CS/Telecom or a related field&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt; Excellent programming and scripting (Python, Bash, other languages are a plus)&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt; Proficiency in Debian/Ubuntu or other Unix-like operating systems&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt; Good knowledge of TCP/IP networking&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt; Some knowledge on radio networks (4g 5G WLAN LPWAN)&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt; Excellent written and spoken English&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt; Research experience is a plus&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt; Industry experience is a plus&lt;/li&gt;&lt;/ul&gt;
