Internships in Cybersecurity 2019/2020

The Drakkar research group at LIG Lab is looking for M1/M2 interns. Some of the topics addressed by our team are strongly related to empirical aspects of cybersecurity and would allow you to work on subjects such as:

• Denial-of-Service attacks and defenses (e.g.: prevention, discovering protocols and networks enabling attacks)
• Internet-wide vulnerability scanning (e.g.: building tools to search for vulnerabilities, vulnerability notifications)
• Phishing attacks (e.g.: discovering malicious domains, typo squatting, phishing attacks against financial institutions, etc.)
• Economics of cybersecurity (e.g. why attackers tend to register malicious domains rather than compromising vulnerable websites)
• Cybercrime (e.g.: bulletproof hosting providers)

If you are motivated and have a background in any of the topics listed above, or other areas of cybersecurity and you’d like to propose your own subject, please contact Maciej Korczyński [maciej.korczynski at univ-grenoble-alpes.fr], send your CV and explain your motivation. We can meet to discuss and potentially define an internship project. International students are encouraged to apply. A doctoral position may be available at the end of the internship, so that the intern can carry the work on as a PhD student.
